Akia Brown 2016
Congratulations to Akia Brown All Time Leading Scorer!

Akia Brown receiving the game ball after East defeated Belpre in the Division IV District Semi Finals in Athens.  Akia is now the all time leading scorer in the History of East Boys Basketball.  Akia has now scored 1363 points which passes Kevin Monroe's 1353 points. Congratulations, Akia!

On February 23, 2016 at the sectional basketball game the OHSAA Southeast District Athletic Board presented him with the "Friends of Youth Award" recognizing him for 25 years of service to his school and community.

February 22, 2016
RE: Governing Board Election

A public election for three (3) seats on the Governing Board of the Sciotoville Community School d.b.a. East High School will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 in Annex 4 behind East High School from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Anyone wishing to be a candidate must be a registered voter in the Sixth Ward of the City of Portsmouth, Precinct A of Porter Township and certain residents of Vernon B located on Bussey, Chamberlin and Kittle Roads, on or before March 1, 2016 and must meet the “Board Member Qualifications” as established by the Governing Board of the Sciotoville Community School d.b.a East High School.  Candidate petitions may be picked up in the Treasurer’s Office at East High School beginning March 1, 2016.  Petitions must be returned to the Treasurer’s Office on or before May 1, 2016, containing the signatures of at least 25 but not more than 50 registered voters in the Sixth Ward of the City of Portsmouth, Precinct A of Porter Township and certain residents of Vernon B located on Bussey, Chamberlin and Kittle Roads.

All decisions of the Election Committee will be considered final.
