Kristi L. Garrett, M.Ed.

Intervention Specialist

I was born and raised in Ohio.  I graduated from high school in 1989, as my class Valedictorian.  I married and moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where I would spend the next ten years.  During my time there, I had three children and obtained my Associate of Arts degree in History from Campbell University.  After returning to my hometown, I enrolled in Shawnee State University and began working toward a degree in education.   There were some issues along the way, and I ended up getting a Bachelor of Arts degree and beginning work in public relations.  In 2001, I was able to return to college to pursue my education degree.  Since then, I have also completed a Master of Education degree with a concentration in Intervention and Special Education.
I have previously taught in a private school as well as eight years with Head Start.  This is my fourth year here at East, and I can honestly say I love my job.  East is a special place and the staff here contains some of the most dedicated educators I’ve ever been privileged to work with. Combining that with the unique and extraordinary students I get to work with, makes being an East Tartan a thing I can be very proud of!
